Interaction Situation
The user and the robot are engaged in a game where the user has to perform well on a certain task. The robot signals its (mental) support during the task and encourages the user to perform well. Thus, the user knows that the robot is on her side and has her best interests in mind.
Solution
Let the robot express that:
- It directs its attention towards the user using a user-oriented positioning in the room, letting robot and user face each other. (Attentive)
- It’s optimism and an active activation of the user, by showing a convincing expression of motivation and strenght (Contageous energy)
- Its operation mode is <on> setting the status light to permanently glowing. (Operation mode on)
